It is a simple choice to be happy

The next step in the process of being happy is that all of us need to just choose to be happy. I know that this may sound like advice that is too simple. But it really does come down to making a choice to be happy. I decided almost a year ago that I was going to make a choice to be happy and I did that. It was one of the best decisions that I ever made in my life.

You might be asking yourself “How can I just choose to be happy when I have money problems, or how can I be happy when my marriage is in trouble or how can I be happy when I am struggling to pay my mortgage?” First of all, I would like to say that as long as you keep on asking yourself those kinds of questions, you will only attract more situations and circumstances to worry about or be afraid of. That is because you will subconsciously attract those events to yourself. I will admit that even my life isn’t perfect either and I’m certainly not happy 100% of the time. No one can be happy 100% of the time. But we can be happy most of the time. Here are a series of strategies that I have come up with that can help you in your journey to achieve lasting happiness:

1. Make a choice that you are going to be happy

This one is obvious enough. I know that all of us have issues or concerns going on in our lives. But it is really important that we affirm to ourselves that we want to be happy. And as we do this and focus on it, over time our subconscious mind will pick up on this signal that we are sending out into the Universe and we will see that we will start to feel much better about ourselves. Our thoughts are magnetic and they do become things. Every morning when I get out of bed, I make it my intention that I want to be happy and that I want to have a great day. And I am successful at making this happen because I am able to make sure that I do whatever I can to stay in that positive frequency. Make it your intention that you are going to be happy and try to stay in that mood.

However, for those of you that have depression or any other serious illness, professional help is necessary. But in general, I believe that most people can make up their minds to be happy.

2. Realize that life will never be bliss 100% of the time

I would guess that most people will know that life can never be bliss 100% of the time. There are always going to be situations and circumstances that happen that are not necessarily pleasant or some of these events may be sad events. People will die every day, people will get sick and others will lose their homes or their jobs. These events will happen from time to time. But the important thing that I have learned in my life that I can share with others is that we all have to take steps to minimize the unpleasant events or to minimize the tears and focus on the goal of being happy. No matter what may be happening in our lives, we have to realize that the goal is to always be as happy as we can be.

3. Life is not fair

Life is not fair and it is never going to be fair. It took me many years to realize this. Life was never designed to be fair. Fairness is only an ideal situation. The world is not perfect. Therefore, it is my belief that we have to find a way to somehow deal with the fact that life isn’t fair. No one has everything that they could possibly want to have. And even if they did, they would only want more things. They would then keep on searching for how to be happy. My advice is to not search for happiness because it is not something you can buy from a store. There is no store that you can go to and buy happiness for example. Happiness is a feeling and emotion that has to come from within us. Life is not fair and so we have to deal with it. Is it hard to deal with this reality? Of course it is hard and even I had a hard time accepting the fact that life is not fair. But I have learned how to deal with that fact. It is never easy to deal with life’s rough moments but this is how life is.

4. You can either choose happiness or misery

How does this next step have to deal with choosing to be happy? Well, I like to think that all of us can either choose to be miserable or we can choose to be happy. I always choose to be happy and I feel better because of that choice. All of us have one of a possible two choices. We can either choose misery or happiness. I suggest that you choose happiness over misery. It is actually how you look at life. There are wealthy people that are unhappy and miserable and then there are poor people that are happier.

5. There are always good things that happen in the world

This is a fact. If we look more closely, we will see that there are always good things that happen in this world. The problem is that we are always exposed to the bad events that are discussed in the news and we may overlook the good things that always happen every day. This is true even for our own lives. If you woke up out of your bed alive, that is a good thing. If you have the ability to read these words, that’s also a good thing. If you got a kind greeting from a stranger, that is also another good thing. If you have access to the World Wide Web, that is a good thing. Just remember that there are always good things that are occurring in this world every day without fail. Where there is evil there is also good. If you really focus on all the good things that are going on in the world on a consistent basis, you will begin to attract more good things to you. You will continue to feel good and you can bring yourself up even higher.

Life is not always bliss all the time. But if you remember these tips of advice and apply them to your life consistently, you will feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. I wish all of you the best as you focus on the objective of achieving lasting happiness. If you find yourself getting off track in terms of your happiness, make sure to change that mood as soon as you can. You deserve to be happy in life.
